I come from Bogotá, Colombia and I have been living in Germany for the last 18 years.
I studied in Political Science, Modern History and Spanish Philology. After my PhD in Political Science at the University of Bonn I worked at Unicepta Gesellschaft für Medienanalyse mbH in Cologne at the Analytics & Insights department as well as a scientific research assistant at the University “Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg” at the department of Social Policy and Social Security Studies. Furthermore, I was a managing director of the Association Sozialversicherungswissenschaft e.V.
My own migration history, my intercultural experiences and my many years of existence as a „non-citizen“ in Germany and my deep commitment to democracy has guided me along the last decade to create discussion spaces and to offer seminars and workshops for the civil society and to research about the following topics in depth: Democracy, democracy protection, defensive or contentious democracy, dealing with social plurality, dealing with right-wing extremism and right-wing populism, social participation, active political participation, interculturality as well as migration and integration policy.
